My preference:

The brand I use is Optimum Nutrition, it’s marketed as the gold standard and it pretty much is as it has 24 grams of protein and less than 5 grams of carbs per serving. It also comes with roughly 4 grams of BCAAs per serving which isn't essential but it is a nice addition. Which is why it comes with a higher price tag.

I prefer the Vanilla flavour because it’s more versatile with pancakes or smoothies.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Muscle Building and Recovery Protein Powder With Naturally Occurring Glutamine and BCAA Amino Acids, Extreme Milk Chocolate Flavour, 71 Servings, 2.27 kg

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Powder Vanilla Ice Cream 2.2kg

2.2 kg Whey Protein Gold Standard - Double Rich Chocolate

Alternatives:

My protein: an alternative brand that’s cheaper however, there are fewer grams of protein per serving (roughly 19 per serving).

This brand also has a HUGE variety of flavours but from my experience, the flavours taste heavy on sweetener and are not that great.

Impact Whey Protein

Bulk powders - The other lower-cost alternative, similar in price and protein per serving (22 grams) to My protein.

I wouldn't say any of these two are significantly better than the other, I’d advise to go on whichever site is doing the bigger discount which they always do.

Pure Whey Protein™

AVOID!!!

Stay away from anything that is branded as a mass gainer!

Even if it has more protein per serving!

It is higher in protein but even higher in carbs per serving!

You end up consuming more sugar than actual protein!
